This service provides our in-depth analysis of the biofuels sector - biodiesel and ethanol - in the European Union.
For each EU country, the module includes:

• – Our estimates and forecasts for biodiesel and ethanol production and consumption, with historic data going back 10 years
• – List of biodiesel and ethanol plants (including company name, town/region, production capacity)
• – Volumes of raw materials used (grains, sugar beet, vegetable oils)
• – Full legislative framework relating to biofuels sector:
  •     • Fuel incorporation objectives
  •     • Mechanisms for supporting consumption
  •     • Penalties and other legally binding compliance mechanisms
  •     • Support to production
  •     • Certification systems

The data can be accessed in the following formats: July-June marketing year, October-September marketing year or January-December civil calendar year. Data for production, consumption and raw materials usage is viewable on a per-quarter basis.

We offer a download facility to enable users to extract data on biofuel factories, production, consumption and raw materials usage as an Excel CSV file.
