  A BIOFUEL ANALYST

The role

As part of our development strategy, Tallage is seeking to strengthen our team dedicated to analysis of global biofuels markets (EU, USA, South America, Asia, etc.). The successful candidate will participate in producing our forecasts for production, trade and consumption of biofuels in the medium and long terms and participate in the development of new “Stratégie grains” services and improvements to our existing tools. Our services are intended to provide business-critical information for professionals in the agricultural, industrial and energy sectors concerning developments across these markets. A major part of the role will focus on advanced biofuels.
The principal elements of this role consist of:
- Gathering information on production of and demand for biofuels, from a diverse range of sources (professional contacts, official statistics, industry data, press reports, specialist publications, conferences etc.)
- Analysing and using this information to produce supply and demand forecasting for biofuels markets
- Participating in writing our reports and contributing to the news updates on our website www.strategie-grains.com
- Developing modelling tools to improve our forecasting
- Listening to the needs of our clients (notably in terms of providing additional information, requests for specific research, training, etc.)
- Monitoring the evolution of biofuels markets in the medium and long term (focussing on impacts of agricultural, environmental and energy policies in the main producer and consumer countries)

The profile

- You hold a master's or engineering degree in agroeconomics, energy, environment, sustainable development (or equivalent)
- You have 5 years' experience in market analysis or trading in the agri-commodities or biofuels sectors
- You have excellent knowledge of the major issues and regulatory frameworks of renewable energies in transport, and/or the raw materials used in the biofuels industry (grains, oilseeds, cellulosic materials, recycled oils etc.)
- You have good interpersonal skills, especially for information gathering by telephone (this position is mostly sedentary with some travel) and for client relationships
- You have good spoken French and English, and very strong writing skills
- You are a capable team player
- You have a rigorous approach, natural curiosity and dynamism

Conditions :

We are offering a permanent, full-time contract
Office location: Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne (77), France; possibility of homeworking for several days per week
